
This spiced, fresh hot cider is sure to kick the wintertime chills. I am not usually a fan of hot beverages (I know, I am strange!), but this Ginger & Turmeric Hot Cider is absolutely delicious. Sweet apple cider seeped with fresh spices, enjoying this drink will sure to tingle your taste-buds. Along with the health benefits of the fresh ginger and turmeric, this is a great way to spice up the life of your regular cider drink.
Turmeric has been used for many centuries to treat inflammation disorders such as skin conditions, pain, and gastrointestinal problems. Ingredients:
- 1 cup fresh sweet apple cider
- 1 tsp. grated fresh ginger
- 1 tsp. grated fresh turmeric
- 1 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch strip lemon peel, white part included
In a small saucepan, combine cider, ginger, turmeric, and lemon peel. Over medium-high heat, heat until ring of bubbles appears around edge of pan, about 3 minutes. Cover pan and set aside to steep for 5 minutes.
Pour hot-spiced cider through fine tea strainer into mug. Serve immediately and enjoy!
